For example, we process Personal Data in our business database under our legitimate interests for which we have undertaken a Legitimate Interest Assessment.
We do not process Personal Data under the lawful basis of Article 6(1)(a) data subject consent currently (where the consent has freely given permission for us to process their Personal Data for one or more processing activities and for which their consent-withdrawal can be made at any time).
Special Category Data Processing
We do not process special category data in respect of our Business Database, for example relating to employee health data, the additional bases for processing that we rely on are:
Article 9(2)(b) which relates to carrying out our obligations and exercising our rights in employment and the safeguarding of your fundamental rights.
Article 9(2)(c) to protect your vital interests or those of another person where you are incapable of giving your consent.
Article 9(2)(f) for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
In addition, we rely on the processing condition at Schedule 1 part 1 paragraph 1 of the DPA 2018. This relates to the processing of special category data for employment purposes.
2. When and where do we collect personal data
Directly from you as you are representing your organisation or business or responded to a communication sent by us
From publicly available sources such as Companies House, websites, industry-specific directories, press releases and so on.
Indirectly, provided by the company or organisation you are employed by, or work for, as a contact of the business or we have contacted a business organisation, and it provide us your Personal Data in its response as a business contact of their customer, prospective customer, vendor or partner.
When you visit any of our websites or speak to an account manager on the phone.
When you create a credit account with us. When you purchase a product or service by phone but do not have (or don’t use) an account.
When you engage with us on social media.
When you contact us by any means with queries, complaints etc.
When you enter prize draws or competitions.
When you book any kind of appointment with us or book to attend an event, for example, a meeting to discuss an opportunity or an event we have organised.
When you choose to complete any surveys, we send you.
When you comment on or review our products and services. Any individual may access personal data related to them, including opinions. So, if your comment or review includes information about the Partner who if service, it may be passed on to them if requested.
When you have given a third-party permission to share with us the information, they hold about you.
Details that you provide us at networking events directly or where you have confirmed to the event organiser or other referring party that you are happy for your details to be shared.

This information will not be shared with any organisation for their own benefit. We might share your details with contracted processors working on our behalf to deliver our products or services

We utilise appropriate procedures and technologies to protect your Personal Data from being accessed unlawfully, used or accidentally lost. All electronic data is held within a Tier 3 UK data centre at West Byfleet, Surrey, England. The centre is accreditation to ISO27001.
SDS operates to a Data Protection Policy based upon internationally recognised privacy standards and are currently undertaking ISO27701 Privacy Information Management certification with an external accreditor.
In the event of a data Security Breach or a suspected data breach we have procedures in place. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected Security Breach where legally required to do so. We will not make use of your details for automated decision making.

The right to be informed. This obligates us to tell you when we collect your details what we will do with them, how we hold them and for how long for example within a data collection notice and this privacy policy.
